Clicking noise

When using my home phone I get a clicking noise while on a call. Most annoying and heard on both ends of call.

@Glarmis It could be an issue with the wiring or the phone, try unplugging the phone wire from the back on the phone modem and plugging your phone in direct. If the clicking stops, check anything else that is plugged in to the house phone wiring, if the clicking persists, check your phone. Do you have an alarm system?

Phones are plugged in direct although one is into an answer machine. However I tried direct on that one as well.  I'm curious if it

has to do with the intercom system in apartment building although this has just started recently.  But they were having intelcom

problems recent as well and I had no phone problems previous.

  Have tech visit scheduled next week so hopefully can solve this problem.   Thanks for response.
