Mac computer bought last year, D-link bought in November 2020, we have tried multiple web browsers and multiple devices and multiple cables and still slow. We have internet 300.

Yes all our phones and we have tried different laptops to no avail.

@Karen07 -- can you produce some empirical results of testing via the Shaw Speed Test web-site:

1. computer connected via Ethernet cable (labelled "CAT 5e" or "CAT 6") directly to the cable-modem;
2. computer connected via the same Ethernet cable to one LAN port on the D-Link router.

What are the "download" and "upload" speeds?

How fast is the processor on each of the laptops?  That speed-test web-site requires at least 2.5 Ghz, to run the test at its full speed, to show the highest numbers.
