Experiment: on one of your own WiFi-enabled devices, tell it to "forget" the SSID of your home network, and then rescan for WiFi networks, to find your own SSID. Connect to it, and enter the password that is on the modem. Does your own device connect with that SSID/password?
What device(s) do your guest(s) use? 2.4 Ghz? 5 Ghz?
