EMails from @hotmail.com Not Being Received

Yesterday suddenly stopped receiving emails from specific person who is unable to send to any @shaw.ca, error message received by sender is:

" shw-ibgw-4004a.ext.cloud filter.net"

Anybody have any idea how this can be fixed?  These messages are quite important.

@Beth06 -- please cite the complete "bounce" message. The snippet that you listed is of no help -- it only identifies the name of one of the "mail-servers" in the path from Hotmail to Shaw, not the underlying reason.

For privacy, you can "XXX" out the E-mail address in the "From:" field, if it identifies a colleague of yours.

We no longer have the full message and the issue now appears to have resolved itself so we didn't keep any of them.  Will be sure to do so if this happens again.  The issue was from any @Hotmail to any @shaw.ca

AUP == Appropriate Usage Policy

SNDR == E-mail ID in the "From:" field of the SeNDeR message.

Move the "bad" message Hotmail's "outbox" folder to some other folder.

Compose a new message, and see if that message gets delivered.

P.S. Is it possible that a spammer/scammer has been sending BULK E-mail, but injecting your E-mail ID into the "From:" field of all their E-mail messages?  If so, Shaw might be blocking your ID, due to the volume of messages APPARENTLY coming from your ID.

Thanks, but like I said above, it is already working again now, from both hotmail addresses that were being rejected on Thursday-Friday. I will keep this in mind if it occurs again.

I'm experiencing same problem,  21 emails unsent,  can receive but cant send.  Using 3rd party email system called EM   tried shaw chat for support 

but they just blamed the 3rd party for the problem.  Can send out direct on shawmail server  but not from my EM email system.  Not sure what i can do as getting a hold of Shaw doesn't help .  system has not fixed itself.

This forum is not a direct path to Shaw Support.

Can you provide more details:

  1. the web-site from where you downloaded the "EM" software?
  2. what error-message you get when you try to send?
  3. can you move the 1st of the 21 messages from the "Outbox" folder to some other folder, to see if that triggers the sending of the other 21 messages?
  4. what E-mail configuration settings are you using? What is the "outgoing" mail-server? 
  5. is your computer connected to a Shaw cable-modem when you are trying to send, or to some other company (Uniserve? Island.Net? Telus?).  Their E-mail configurations could be different.

The more information that you can supply, the better the help that the volunteers provide will be.
