@alfrednykolyn -- I cannot send a message using a sender xxx@uniserve.com.
Are you really using "xxx", or are you hiding the actual ID that you have on Uniserve?
Shaw's mail-server is querying, in near-real-time, whether "xxx" is a valid ID on the Uniserve system.
When I tried sending, using/abusing the ID "support@uniserve.com", then I did not get the error-message.
If I slightly change the domain-name, by adding one "x", I get:
550 <xxx@xuniserve.com> sender rejected. AUP#DNS
Shaw's mail-server recognizes that there are no DNS-servers for the "xuniserve.com" domain, and thus rejects my attempt. Good for them for blocking "bad" E-mail IDs that spammers try to use.
I tried that and still not working. Weird thing is that it worked until I moved and changed modems, both Shaw fibre ones. It used worked on the old cable modem that was here before.
@ChriseB -- can you please give more detail:
1. E-mail client on your computer
2. Configuration of that client: outgoing SMTP-server, TCP-port number, authentication or not
3. Confirm that your computer is connected to a cable-modem provided by Shaw, not by you, and not by Uniserve
4. Whether you have temporarily configured your E-mail client to use "support@uniserve.com" in the "FROM:" field
5. The text of any error-message(s) that have been generated
These "technical" details will help replicate your setup, as a comparison.
Well, today I finally got it to work. I am using Windows Live mail. It is using smtp.shaw.ca and set to use my shaw id & pswd to authenticate sending. Hopefully it will stay working now. Thanx.
And today it is not working again even though nothing has changed...

Hi
I'm having a similar problem (sender rejected: AUP#SNDR) and wondering if you found a solution?
thanks!
@Zenj -- AUP#SNDR
AUP ==> Appropriate Usage Policy
SNDR ==> Sender
In the Spring of 2021, Shaw outsourced E-mail processing. So, "what worked before" may not work today.
Shaw's mail-servers do try to authenticate the E-mail ID that you put into the "FROM:" field of your outgoing E-mail, but only for some domains, including UNISERVE and TELUS. If the E-mail ID is not valid on those domains, you get the "AUP#SNDR" error-message. This blocks spammers who has exploited the computer of a Shaw customer from sending "spam" E-mail through that compromised computer.
So, what ID are you putting in the "FROM:" field?
Hi
It's a non-shaw email id (my own domain).
I use Eudora to access 3 emails - a Shaw email, a gmail account and a third one causing me issues when I send an email.The shaw emaiI is the dominant email so all outgoing messages use the Shaw server. I can send message using my shaw and gmail accounts - no errors.
I have had this setup for many years without any issues. I could send messages on Sept 2; the problem started occurring on Sept 3. I haven't changed any settings (unless something got messed up in Eudora in the background).
