@scl005 -- you posted on Thursday. Two days earlier was the 2nd Tuesday of the month. At 10 AM Pacific on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, Microsoft releases security updates for Windows. So, your computer could have been "busy" sometime after that date/time, downloading & installing those updates. So, if you try to use your computer while it is updating, you might notice that it is "slow".
Now, a few days later, is it still slow? Try restarting your computer, to see if there are "pending" updates that need to completely install.
