Today I signed up for a Netflix account, I did this via the Netflix website.
When I turned on the tv to sign in for my new account, I entered all the necessary information, and then it said that a fee of 20.99 will be charged to my Shaw account every month. How is that possible? I didn't sign up for Netflix through Shaw.
I phoned Netflix and they verified that I just signed up for an account and will be paying via Mastercard. She advised me to contact Shaw and dispute the 20.99 a month payment on my Shaw bill. My husband is heading to a Shaw location near us to fix this issue.
Has this happened to anyone else before? I just don't understand how this transpired.MQQ
@Rogerman You must have also signed up for Shaw through the Netflix app on BlueCurve. You don’t need to go to the store, just cancel it in the My Shaw app.
Not quite the same problem but actually backwards.. I signed up for Netflix thru Shaw and now I can’t login on my phone or online because I have no login information and I have called and asked and they said someone would call back cause they are not sure and never received a call 🤷♀️
@Boo123456 If you have forgotten your password, go to Netflix.com/loginhelp or go to the Netflix App on your Ignite TV set-top box and click Forgot Your Password. An email will be sent to the email address you have on file with Netflix.
I was automatically signed up for Netflix by a Shaw representative twice! The first time i finally noticed and told them to remove it, and they gave me every excuse in the book that i had to login to Netflix directly and cancel it through the Netflix app. Then Netflix told me i had to cancel through Shaw. Finally Shaw was able to cancel it for me for a couple of months, but then several months later it started happening again. Bull**bleep**!!
