@Wolfman-247 -- what hardware is Shaw providing? The cable-modem has WiFi and 4 Ethernet ports. If they supply other WiFi devices (theoretically to put another box in a different room where you have a TV), you do not need to connect/use those other devices, if you have no need for a secondary TV). So, keep those devices in their original packaging, until you choose to terminate your Shaw Internet service.
If you have no need for WiFi inside your home, you can disable the cable-modem's built-in WiFi.
