@jmdion -- do you have a problem with poor WiFi in parts of your house with the HITRON's WiFi? How many levels in your house? Is the HITRON placed in the "middle" of your house?
I truly doubt that NETGEAR would create a product that is NOT compatible with all the major ISPs. Why would NETGEAR do something that stupid? 🙂
The ORBI seems to have the same WiFi features as the HITRON cable-modem/router, namely two WiFi bands (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz), but the ORBI includes two "satellite" boxes, to create a "mesh", as do the Shaw WiFi Pods but at a slightly-higher price.
The price at Walmart (CA) for the ORBI is $229.28 (plus taxes) -- not available in-store.
Walmart's description: Orbi works with your Internet service provider and recommended for homes with download speeds up to 50Mbps.
I wonder how old that description is. Does it imply that the Orbi will max-out at 50 Mbps per connection? It's a good thing that Walmart has a good "return-policy".
