It’s a done deal. Finally, some better TV packing.

Hi @rstra , don't forget actually one last hurdle to go before it's 100% done deal, just the science/innovation tribunal people to say yes or no. But this sure is good news none the less, thanks for posting it. I wonder when this finalizing (fingers crossed) how smooth the transition is going to end up being?
@g-idk Yes, that is correct, but I think that Rogers/Shaw met the government demands. The deal was supposed to close December 31, but they will probably need to extend that date.
Hi @rstra , guess what happened.
and they are seeking an injunction to make sure that nothing further can happen until the appeal is heard. This is some crazy yo-yo ride. here is the link Rogers-Shaw deal: Competition watchdog appeals tribunal ruling that would allow merger - National | ...
@g-idk They just won’t give up. I don’t believe Shaw has a path forward if this doesn’t go through. Cable, home phone, satellite are bleeding customers and internet is stagnant, They can’t afford to build out Freedom to a point where it is competitive and would likely sell it anyway if the merger doesn’t happen.
@rstra , I hear you. If this doesn't go through, what is it going to mean for us? After all Shaw really wants to dump this company.
This might be an interesting read to some.

Hi @Zeph , Thanks that was interesting. Boy oh Boy the legal fees involved in this mess are astronomical. I feel they have a valid complaint in that the Commissioner for Competition is acting like a deer in the headlights not being able to see or accept any other answer than NO. Guess we will again have to wait and see how this all plays out.
