@rstra , hmm very interesting.  This might be a solution if you live in a storm prone area, but yikes another $15/month.  For me personally I can't justify that since I think the last time my power went out was like 2 years ago, when a moving van ripped some wires down, hence no storms.  Thanks for the notice.

@rstra -- does the device also power your computer, your computer's screen, and a room-light, so that you can work on your computer without power from BC Hydro?  Or, do you need a UPS to (briefly) power those components?

Of course, with a modern car, you can recharge your mobile-phone, without power from BC Hydro.  🙂
