@Saito -- I don't think this Hitron router can do any mode other than just router.

Not correct. Please see How To: Set your wireless modem to Bridge Mode

which states:

if you're using a BlueCurve Gateway, you can set up Bridge Mode yourself ...

For all other Shaw modems, this will require a system update by a Shaw agent.

Use online chat support so we can provide you with assistance.

So, it definitely is possible for the Hitron to work in "bridged" mode.

Hi,

FWIW, I just started to notice this problem; the LAN status screen of the modem indicated 100MBPS (WLAN much faster than LAN!).  I am using a Cat 5E cable to connect to my gigabit switch (its a short white one and I think it was provided with the modem) and discovered that by applying an upward force to the cable where it enters the modem, the link jumps up to gigabit Ethernet.  I will investigate further and maybe change the cable.

This might be worth a try... --Dave

Please check with port from the Hitron modem. If it is in green light, it is in 100m mode. You should try to change another port. If the colour change to orange, it is a gigabits port. However, the port may change to 100m when you use for a while. I hope Shaw can fix this issue.
