Third party wifi boosters

I need a wifi extender/booster that will maintain internet speeds throughout my house.  I have the blue curve pods but they do not maintain speeds.  My kids cannot play games if they are in the basement or upstairs.  Do I return the pods or continue to use them with an extender/booster?  Any specific brands/models that people have used that work with Shaw Blue Curve?  Thanks in advance!!

Have you done any speed tests with devices connected to the pods, have you tried repositioning the pods? If you want to maintain speed, you will need a range extender, but this also requires a wired connection from your router. You could use a wifi repeater, but you would most likely see a substantial drop in speeds, but not require a wired connection.

You would need to talk to Shaw about returning the pods, retail is closed, so that isn’t an option.

Where are the wireless pods? Are they "half-way" between the child's device and your BlueCurve "base" device? Can you place them immediately one floor "above" or "below" the BlueCurve -- separated only by a wooden floor/ceiling ?

They should not be placed close to the child's device -- if the WiFi from the "base" unit cannot reach your child's computer, then the same WiFi from the "base" unit cannot reach a WiFi pod in the same room as the child's computer.

I agree with running the Shaw SpeedTest, while the child's computer is immediately one floor up/down from the "base" unit, and then rerunning the test when the child's computer is near a wireless pod on the same floor, and then rerunning the test when the child's computer is further away from the wireless pod on the same floor. Measure, measure, measure.

I would also like a recommendation of some model of wired booster for the Blue Curve. The Shaw wifi router is barely enough to run the door bell cameras that are only 25 feet away. Always getting message - slow connection may effect streaming. I have already bought enough crap, Just want exactly what works to boost signal, and exactly how to wire it up. this wireless world sucks.
