@Carol43 If you're exporting your account data in Webmail, it will save as a .tgz file, which most email clients should be able to open. If you're having trouble with importing that data within your email client you may want to check in with the provider of that program. Alternatively, you could add your account into your mail client as a POP account using the settings here, to download the messages in your inbox to your computer.
