why can i get to every other website including porn sites but not shaw webmail????

I am not the only one. I can access my mail on my google pixel. I cannot access my mail on my surface 5 or on my cabled home desktop. It is hit and miss, sometimes after I type webmail.sahw.ca in my url and hit enter, I get the window that prompts my email address and password, after inputting I hit enter then the roulette wheel starts spinning. Sometimes I get the email loading but most times i get nothing or I get " unable to connect to server". This only started hapening the last 4 months. Now I can never get access to my email. HELP!!!!!!

@KEA03 -- welcome to this peer-to-peer discussion forum, where volunteers try to help.

If you do a search within this forum for "unable to connect", you'll find many threads about that error-message.

You'll find that the issue has existed for over one year, but it seems to be happening much less frequently now, as compared to a year ago.  So, Shaw must have done something -- maybe "increased capacity" on their mail-server and/or their authentication-server.

Yes I cannot log onto my webmail, and called shaw many times and they refuse to fix the problem, and say it is not at shaw where the problem is and it is with my computor, I can log into my g-mail and hotmail with no problems, but can't log into my email.  and many times called shaw, and even representative from Rogers say it is not at their source wher problem is.

Do you have more than one computer/device? Can any of them successfully connect?

What happens when you try to logon?  Any error-message? Extremely slow?

Which web-browsers have you tried? Safari? Opera? Firefox? Google Chrome? Microsoft Edge?

Over a year ago, the "unable to connect" message was very frequent.

Currently, I almost never see that error-message.

My conclusion is that Shaw has addressed the problem.

It is unfortunate that the Shaw/Rogers front-line staff have not been properly trained, and thus say "not our problem". The proper protocol for them is to "escalate" a problem that they cannot solve to the "higher-level" support staff, and to give you a "trouble-ticket" that identifies you to those staff.

During the transition (which started in April 2023) from "Shaw" to "Shaw Together With Rogers", it seems possible that Shaw's technicians have been told to "freeze" the Shaw infrastructure servers, pending a hand-over of those servers to Rogers support staff.

In your case, stop using Shaw WebMail, and configure some other E-mail client, such as Window 10 Mail, or Microsoft Outlook to access your mailbox.

What error-message do you get when you try to logon? "Unable to communicate with server" ???

What Operating System are you using (Windows? Mac OS? Macbook? iPhone? iPad?) 

Which web-browser? (Safari? Microsoft Edge? Firefox? Google Chrome?)

Have you used "Windows Update" (or the similar software on your device) to ensure that you have the latest updates?

If you have another computer, can you logon to WebMail on it?

You probably should have created a new "thread" within this forum, rather than adding to this thread.

Anyway, please supply more information:

* type of computer (Apple Macbook, iPad, iPhone, tablet, Windows notebook, Windows desktop);

* operating system (MacOS or Windows 7 (no longer supported), Windows 8 (no longer supported), Windows 10 (supported until October 2025), Windows 11);

* the E-mail program are you using (Thunderbird? Mac Mail? Microsoft Outlook?  Windows 10 Mail? Windows 11 Mail? GMail? Yahoo Mail? Shaw WebMail? Windows Live Mail?);

* what you mean by "sporadic";

* what error-message(s) you get when not able to logon;

* has it ever worked for you, or are you trying for the first time to process E-mail;

Having that information will be helpful to focus on your issue.

Have you tried using the "search" function within this forum, to try to find a question similar to yours?
