Firmware upgrade process
This section explains how the firmware upgrades for the BlueCurve TV PVR and the BlueCurve TV Player (XiD) will occur.
How it works
Device Initiated
There are two scenarios when the device is initiated to access the firmware:
---------------
It is possible that something is going wrong in the above process each night. So, night-after-night, the process is retried, and fails again.
@rstra is correct -- contact Shaw Support.
This is a peer-to-peer discussion, not an official path to Shaw Support. So, your issue cannot be resolved by any contributor on this forum.
@Willijo If it is still rebooting, contact Shaw to troubleshoot. Likely a faulty box or signal issue.
almost every evening when I am playing a game on facebook. I have disconnected the modem as suggested, still does it. Whats up?
my pvr/tv keep going off and on at night. It's been happening a lot. So frustrating! I just wasted like 2hrs of my evening watching a movie only to miss the end because the **bleep** pvr cut out! WTH? So mad....
@karenmj -- two possibilities come to mind:
1. overheating of the PVR, causing it to shutdown. Place the PVR in an "open" area, for maximum ventilation around it. Do not put a soft cloth underneath it.
2. depending on what region you live, check the Shaw Outages page, to see if there was a scheduled outage in your region, at the time that your PVR stopped. Note that "completed" outages do get removed from that web-page.
Are you "mad" or "angry" ?
