Arris Gateway TV Box: every recording will intermittently freeze for one minute and then continue. The Gateway will not respond to any remote buttons and freezes up for about one minute and then continues playing. Once it continues playing I can rewind it and it will play as if nothing happened. Any suggestions.
@Bobbipoo - it could be a problem with the disk-drive -- slow to try to read some recorded blocks of data from the disk-drive, means that the Gateway is waiting (a long time) for the disk-drive to respond. How old is the Gateway?
Is your PVR showing over 90% full?
The disk drive is never more than 60% full. The gateway is about 10 years old. I suspect also that it is probably the hard drive. I am just wondering if there is a solution other than replacing the box itself.
