Started working again for me on Oct 26 evening.
Seems others are still having issues which suggests the Shaw app or behind the scenes setup is very flaky.
This is happening to me. Never had an issue with my chrome cast. I used it yesterday at a friends with the app and thought oh maybe it’s his internet. It disconnected every 10mins. i rebooted it, disconnected, switched hdmi ports, same issue. I try it now at home and once again it disconnects every 10 mins. I’m very disappointed.

try setting up the chrome cast on the 2.5 not the 5.0 and see if that works
