Bluecurve Stop a recording before the end of the program

I would like to be able to stop recording a program before the program is over. 

For example, when a particular News segment is finished. Or, during a concert when a particular band is finished their set.

You used to be able to stop a recording part way through without deleting what's already recorded. (not 100% sure if it was on Bluecurve or the older platform).

Your chat line was unable to show me a way.

@ggovier With the BlueCurve TV platform it will record all the way to the scheduled end of the program, the recording will only be stopped if you choose to delete the program while it is recording.

so the answer is "you can't do that". Can we make it a feature request? I swear on the previous platform there was a way to stop a recording which was in progress without deleting the portion already recorded.

Yes some of the folks that do the software programming are imagination challenged apparently.

Shaw may have some input but the equipment maker would probably have to make the change.  The equipment is used by other service providers.  I have found more help on issues from their sites than from Shaw, even going in to the outlets doesn't help.  The thing I miss the most is the ability to replay in slow motion.
