All set up with 4 4K wireless tv players. So far so good.
Two TV players (furthest from the gateway) could do better on 2.4GHz. I was wondering if I can have the players individually running on different bands. Shaw activation tech said yes but I can’t see any way to change the setting either in the hardware prefs or the BlueCurve Home app.
Note: When gateway is set to dual band the tv players pick 5GHz. When set to discrete they pick 2.4GHz

Additionally does it really matter if the TV players are set to 5GHz or 2.4GHz. Certainly in my setup when the tv players are connected to 5GHz(the gateway is in dual band) the connection on two players shows “weak” and one bar. Then the connection moves to “excellent” on its own. The picture image and sound is fine. When the Gateway is set to discrete, the tv players connect to 2.4GHz and consistently show “excellent” and 4 bars.
I am left wondering if the self adjusting of the connection in dual band Mode is part of the automatic beam forming process. More importantly is a 2.4GHz with consistent “excellent” values acceptable?
Update: Shaw tech support (chat) advises the wifi settings can only be changed via the Blue Curve Home app turning on and off the dual band feature or selecting discrete bands. Apparently the TV players will select the best band to connect to. I have decided to stay with discrete bands on the gateway and let the tv players decide their best connection, which appears to be 2.4GHz.
