Two things happened on the May long weekend 2020. (1) Shows aren't deleting as they have always been doing in the past. We are always asked when a taped show has been watched, whether we want to delete it or not. When you select delete, it doesn't delete it there anymore. You can only delete it now if you go to your list of taped items and then delete it there. Why this change now?
(2) After turning on the tv and selecting the TV "Guide", it brings up the Guide screen that you last looked at, not the screen for the current time on the clock as has always been the case. I initially found this puzzling because it has been opening a search from a previous day. Usually you cannot open previous day listings. The only way I can review the Guide, is by going out of it and going back into it. Then it refreshes. What's up with this?
(3) On a final note, I still find it frustrating that months ago when there seemed to be some kind of an upgrade on a weekend, we could no longer save a tv show if we were looking at the program's specific details or any other detailed screen about the show. In the past we could tape a program from various screens which was very convenient. Since then, we can only tape through one screen i.e. the TV Guide. We had it the old way for so long, that I still try to tape a program the old way without thinking. Once I’ve read about a program and want to tape it, why do we have to get out of that screen and go to the tv listing? These are additional steps. This doesn’t just pertain to taping shows. I’ve found it in other situations which I cannot think of at the moment. This is very frustrating. I wish you would return this to the way it was.
I tried unplugging the box. Shows still will not delete when I am at their end and am asked if I want to delete or keep it. I still have to go to the main screen of saved shows before I can delete it. I don't know about the other problem yet i.e. it pulling up previous days (most recent) tv guide listing.
@Quack Just to confirm, you are still seeing the prompt at the end of the recording to ask if you wish to delete the program, correct? If so, when you select that you do, what happens? Do you receive an error message? Are you returned to viewing live TV?
I think this is working now. I tried unplugging the system. I believe it's deleting when I'm at the end of the show now, instead of having to go to the listing to try it again.
