channel changing disabled

TV has sound but stuck on Channel 2. No ability to open Guide.  No movement when toggling up and down on channel button.  No change when entering channel number.  Tried new batteries.  Tried unplugging all modem plugs from wall.

Could be an IR conflict, might want to look at this page

Some remote-controls have "TV" and "Cable" buttons near the top.

Press "TV" and then try the up/down buttons for volume.

Press "Cable" and then try the up/down buttons for channels, and try the Guide button, and try the numeric-pad buttons.

Got a friend with a Shaw remote-control? Their remote should work for channels & Guide & numeric-pad on your device.  Also, try your remote against their Shaw device.
