I suspended my TV indefinitely -Now it's back on my bill?

I called Shaw to cancel my TV on MAR 23, 2021. I thought it was cancelled, Shaw sent me an email confirming with a "Your Order Summary" email showing it had suspended my TV , cable box (x5 portals), Mar 23, 2021

There is no indication in this email regarding when the TV will be added back on to my bill.

So I have no idea how long I have been paying for TV service which was never used since MAR 23, 2021, at which point I had unplugged my cable box, portals from all the TVs in my house and put them in a box, in storage.

So ya I have been paying for TV but not using it for 3 years!

@DavidR3  It's probably due to the fact that you cannot suspend your account for an unlimited length of time, you can only suspend for a few months at most before you start getting billed again, it is only meant as a temp hold on your account.  You would have had to completely cancel all your services with Shaw to not be ever billed again.  How in the world could you be paying for tv for 3 years and never notice, are you not paying close attention to every bill that you pay?  Well I guess you had better start watching tv.

I didn't cancel all my services with Shaw, just my TV, I have have been paying for what I thought was just my internet Fibre+300 and modem rental at $114.

They put the TV back on my bill with no notification at all, an extra $25, don't even know when they did, sometimes you think the price just goes up and you continue to pay your bill.

I don't need or want cable TV.

And now I notice I'm over paying for my internet service, I should be getting 500mbps for $110/month?

@DavidR3 , I think it would be best then if you contact Rogers/Shaw directly via the chat service or phone, since this is only a peer to peer discussion forum and not a direct path to Rogers/Shaw support or billing.  Seems like instead of cancelling your tv service it was placed on a temp. suspension, which people use when they might be going on an extended holiday, and then reactivated after a certain period of time.  I think maybe there must have been some sort of misunderstanding between you and the service rep when you originally called in.  I was confused also because on the header of your post it says I suspended my tv service, but in the post you say that you canceled the service, I wonder if the rep got confused as well.  So make sure you contact them directly to get this all straightened out.  My best suggestion is never ever just blindly pay bills, it's your money and they need to show why they want some of it.

My guess is that your two-year Value Plan expired, and you did not sign-up for another two years.  So, Shaw shifted you to their month-by-month prices, namely $25 for "Skinny TV".

If you logon to the My Shaw Portal, you can scroll-down to "Transactions", to see every transaction against your account for the most-recent 24 months.  Do you see the end of the two-year Value Plan?

Also, online, you can see every monthly invoice for the last 24 months.  Look at the oldest invoice, to see if the end-date for the Value Plan is listed.

Were you charged "non-return" fees?  Those fees are charged after you CANCEL your services, if you do not return their hardware.  If you were not charged, you were still a Shaw customer, and were paying the monthly rental fees.
