I have bought an HDMI splitter for our home stereo which has RCA jacks but the cable box should allow switching off of the TV to save power and save wear and tear on the TV. The box should also have a display so you can see what channel is being watched or listened to especially if the TV is allowed to be switched off. The old shaw PVR was vastly superior to this cheap POS. How about Rogers getting the boxes redesigned? The other way to do this is to get the Federal government involved since these new boxes are not ecological in this carbon dioxide obsessed world now. Shaw/Rogers provides all the music channels mandated by the government so being able to shut off the TV to listen to music through better speakers and to save electricity should have been a no brainer.
