@mdk why not add a Blue Curve wireless TV player instead of a rather limited Shaw streamer. Bring the whole BlueCurve setup home.

I had a look at the Shaw streamer program, seems pretty limited. There are really on a few notable apps. I think Shaw would be better off loading up their wireless TV players including a Blue Curve app and let the customers sign into their preferred apps.

I look forward to the day only the apps, including the BlueCurve app, will be offered. Hardware choices will be of the customers choosing.

I still have the older Shaw Gateway HDPVR, with a lot of recorded content, and this box is not compatible with that newer wireless TV player.  So, I would forfeit all that content, if I were immediately to switch to the BlueCurve TV box. Maybe, later, I will switch.

@rickatk  I think we are closer than ever to eliminating Shaw hardware and have TV on apps. After that, 5G to the home, Shaw will never have to set foot in our homes. I wonder if Shaw will pass those cost savings on to the customer? 😂😂😂

Indeed, I haven’t seen much in the way of a discount for self install. Notwithstanding I am quite happy to do my own installation of the gear.

I actually favour the smart TVs doing all the work. A Bluecurve app with live tv on a smart tv or Firestick or Apple TV would be pretty cool!
