WTH is with Shaw butting into my tv program saying "just a moment, you caught us in the middle of a quick household update. We'll be finished in a few minutes."
And then the update was longer than just a few minutes...!!
Why are you the only TV company that does sooo many updates? Telus doesn't and Bell doesn't!!
Can't I just go 1 night watching TV straight thru to the morning without being interrupted or something screwing up where I am forced to RESET my TV box myself??
I've never ever had so many issues with a television service in my life! It's ridiculous!
If this is related to the daily update, you can change the time.

You dont need a daily every **bleep** day for no reason they should just the **bleep** feature off there is no need for it

Set your update time to 0200.
The time is not Shaw's concern. If I want to watch at 3 pm or 3 am that's up to me. The update should be a choice, not a demand. Fxckggg stupid
I'm sorry I changed over to this system. Never did I have updates interfering with my TV watching, whether in the afternoons, mornings, or late at night and never has me modem rebooted itself this many times randomly. Idiot system.
everything still working good still? i agree it is a crazy stupid system glad i don't have shaw anymore. do you know rogers are taking over shaw? shh
@canukhed -- never has me modem rebooted itself this many times randomly
That is not normal. Ask Shaw to ship you (via Canada Post) a replacement modem.
Is your modem connected to an electrical wall-outlet, or through a surge-protecting power-bar, or through a UPS (uninterruptible power supply)? You may be getting power-spikes (or brown-outs or other interruptions) that are triggering the modem to reboot.
Shouldn't you warn people of cable updates before interrupting their programs in the middle of the evening? A few minutes has turned into 10 plus minutes at this point. Why scheduled it for the middle of the evening...why not in the middle of the night?
@Felushko -- the only interruption of TV programming that I have noticed was an "Amber Alert" that displayed, and locked me out of using my Shaw Remote. It occurred around 11 AM, a few days ago. Fortunately, the two missing children were located, about 2 hours later. The children went missing from northern BC, and were found in Toronto. Shaw may have pushed updates, "overnight", when I was sleeping.
