What model of PVR do you have? How old is it -- especially the disk-drive inside the PVR ?
Disk-drives do have a limited life-span -- being unable to delete a recording from it is a sign that the disk-drive could be failing.
Your PVR probably is "out of warranty". So, it hurts nothing if you remove its top-cover, and then inspect the paper label on the disk-drive, to see the "manufacture date", which usually is in "YYDDD" format, e.g., "10180" would the end of June in 2010.
Looks like a Shaw update. Box was showing not subscribed to Global TV today. Rebooted box again. No message on Global and was able to delete programs that I was not able to before. That’s good. Shows software issue rather than hardware issue.
The new cable box fromShaw was refurbished and has old programs recorded which I cannot delete
@dianacrane What model of cable box do you have? Are you receiving an error message when trying to delete the recorded programs?
@Ratter What model of cable box do you have? Are you receiving an error message when trying to delete the recorded programs?
@bedlay -- URC-2054
That seems to be the model-number for a U(niversal) R(emote) C(ontrol), not a PVR.
What happens when you "play" the video, and then fast-forward to the end? Does the PVR offer the options to "keep" or to "delete" , using up/down arrows and the OK button ?
@bedlay Try power cycling the gateway and then the portal (if applicable). Are you still able to record new shows? For the recording that won’t delete, do you still subscribe to the channel that it was recorded on?
No error message
