@Moggar1979 -- I got the same problem during peak during evenings, called Shaw countless times and wait times to get through it ridiculous
Perhaps, the outage is affecting everybody in your neighbourhood, and *ALL* of them are calling Shaw, resulting in those extended wait-times?
This is insane i pay over 200$ for this crap to keep happening...fix this now or im not paying my full bill..
And here we are in Sept 2022 and Shaw's tv service is still doing this. It's sooo friggin frustrating! I can hardly wait for Dec 6th 2022 to come along so I can Finally be RID of Shaw's television, internet and home phone services!!
I've had 100's of issues and problems over the last 3 years and I'm feed up now. Who wants to constantly get up in the middle of the night to Unplug their Shaw system to "hopefully" Fix the issues. It becomes a real pain in the butt, especially when that doesn't fix the problem.
And calling into Shaw at 2 or 3 in the morning only to hear their Robot say "All agents are busy with other calls"!? Like I call BS on that one bcuz I'm pretty sure there's NOT alot of people calling into Shaw during the wee hours of the morning like at 2am or 3am etc!! Shaw just duznt wanna use their BILLIONS of $$$ to Pay anyone to Answer your phone calls! They gotta be 1 of the Cheapest companies in Canada and always have been!
When they called me to tell me my Contract was going to end soon, I tried my damndest to get a smokin DEAL out of them. I even told the lady what Telus had offered me. There was absolutely NO WAY she could Offer me something or give me a deal from what I'm paying now!
I mean, when Telus or Bell can come up with these amazing offers and deals, why can't or why Won't Shaw??? I'm thinking it's bcuz the whole Shaw family, but moreso the Shaw Boyz now, are just waaay too GREEDY and CHEAP, kinda like our prime minister is, even though the Shaw's live in Canada's Richest Province!!
So, I'm going to switch to Telus in December bcuz they have Offered me an amazing Deal that includes Free Crave, Prime and Netflix, Fastest internet, Home Phone, Home Security with 2 cameras (choice of Inside or Outside), Free in house Set Up and a 6 MONTH Bill CREDIT! Oh and they're also giving me a deal on my Mobile phone plan!
Since the late 70's, Shaw has NEVER come up with an amazing Offer, nor any kind of Deal! And I and/or my family have been with Shaw Cable on and off since 1977 depending on where I've lived. Shaw is just far too CHEAP to Match all that or even Offer some of it!
All they do is call you to tell you you're up for Renewal, but they can't or Won't throw in any type of offers/deals whatsoever, yet they continue to line their pockets with our hard earned $$$!
So, I'll put up with all this Audio Garbling, the shows constantly Freezing or Skipping Ahead and the ridiculous Pixelating for 3 more months, and then... Drumroll please, it's off to Telus I shall go where I'll leave Shaw in the dust! Mic Drop!!!
PS... You can Stop with the calling me Several times a day to try and get me to Renew my Shaw services, bcuz I'm Not gunna answer, just like I'm Not gunna Renew! Hey, after decades and decades of crappy TV services and poor customer service, I'm beyond fed up bcuz your TV services and customer service continues to get crappier as time goes on with all these past, present and future issues...
And this is inspite of putting in a NEW MODEM 3 Weeks ago! It didn't Help or Change things bcuz the issues keep happening and keep growing!

Yah, they just want you to believe that EVERYONE is calling during the Wee Hours of the morning - 2am and 3am etc, thus why Shaw's WAIT TIMES are NO DIFFERENT than if you'd called during the Day!
I pay close to $200 as well and certainly NOT getting the TV services that I was promised.
Sounds like IMPLIED WARRANTY to me. Looks like none of us Shaw customers are getting what we signed up for!?
Perhaps a "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" will Open up Shaw's eyes and they'll Stop with their GREED and start Using some of their BILLIONS of $$$ Dollars that we give them, therefore giving us better TV service without ALL of THESE FRIGGIN ISSUES!!!
I was NEVER told that by signing up for Shaw's TV services that I'd receive super Crappy TV service and have Garbled Audio, have TV shows Pixelating and Skipping ahead in front of my very eyes or that the TV Screen would completely FREEZE up and so on. Were any of you told this when you signed up for their Contract? This is WHY I say it sounds like "IMPLIED WARRANTY" and perhaps we should ALL ban together and sue Shaw??? Afterall, for all this hassle and cost, we should be entitled to getting something back! I'm tired of paying for services NOT rendered!

Yup, I sure did and sure have!
I've had 100's of service calls! Most have been via telephone and where those calls can take well up to 2 hours long or longer all bcuz Shaw is too Cheap to send an actual Human being out, and then I've had a rare few in house service calls and some have been with really Lazy guys!
The time before the last housecall the guy was sooo friggin Lazy that he Sat on the end of my Bed while setting everything up and he left a Ginormous A$$ imprint on top of my bed. I actually took a picture of it bcuz it was sooo Huge and Deeply imprinted into my mattress below my bedding...
Like who the fk in the working world SITS their Big A$$ down on someone's bed to do their Job???
It really ticked me off bcuz who knows how clean this piggish Slob was. I ended up having to wash my bedspread and bedding bcuz I didn't want no f@t slobs STINKY A$$ Germs on my bed... I mean like how many Stinky Farts were seeped into his jeans!?
Yes, I know this sounds vulgar but come on, you Don't SIT on people's Beds, and/or you just Don't SIT period when Doing your Job!!!
Anyway, the last time they came, I was told that I now have the Best of the Best equipment and that I shouldn't have anymore problems... Yah right, what a croc of bull! Every week there's problems or issues!
Shaw just $ucks and that's the bottom line! They're too CHEAP to invest in proper equipment to keep up with the times, therefore the customer Suffers with $hitty tv and internet service!
Just switch o a better company Telus will buyout your cotract and give you beter deals and 200 dollar credits.

Do not wait until December.
Cancel with Shaw, to not pay them for September/October/November. Shaw's cancellation-fee is $20/month. Compare to the [about] $200/month you are current paying.
A few times during COVID, Telus has offered to give me "Telus credit" for $20, times the number of remaining months on my Shaw Value Plan, if I were to cancel & switch and get the "promotional price for new Telus customers' first year" fees.
This sounds like a "win-win" for you.
P.S. If a new cable-modem did not help, then book a service call, to get Shaw to check the coaxial-cable between your home and the nearest telephone-pole, and also their infrastructure up-and-down your street.
