Streaming PC to TV

Is there any way to increase the buffer size when streaming a movie from my PC through the 4K wireless cable box to the TV? Getting tired of watching 5 minutes of a movie then waiting 30 seconds for the buffer to load some more of the movie. Just not worth watching movies like this.

Airplay is Apple, ChromeCasting is like using Netflix.

The movies are already on my PC. Why would I want to pay for them again?

So Shaw has no way to increase the buffer size on the wireless boxes. I may as well start burning them to dvd again and watch them on the player attached to the tv.

@BvrHunter -- when watching a movie on your PC, when not streaming it to your TV, do you get the same symptoms?

Your PC screen probably will not display 4K -- maybe "Full HD" (1920 by 1080). Do you have a 4K TV?

When you run the Shaw Speed Test, what is your actual download speed? What speed are you paying for? Internet 75? Fibre+ 150?

No i do not get the same problem when I watch on my PC.

I have a brand new 4K Smart UHD 65" tv.

Speed test = 985 Mbps down, 125 Mbps up.

I have the gigabit service. with total tv and 2 4K wireless cables boxes and basic home phone service.

@BvrHunter  Have you tried mirroring, Chromecasting or Airplay from your PC to the TV? How about pulling your movies from the smart TV apps in the new TV?

I think you can even bring PLEX into the picture with the smart apps today.
