@UnhappyCamper1 -- the "local" city-specific version of www.used.ca has many listings for the Gateway PVR units, probably from Telus customers who switched away from Shaw. So, if you really want a Gateway PVR, you can still get one, and Shaw will activate it.
Just check the serial-number with Shaw, to confirm that it is not a "non-returned" rental, and not stolen/banned.
Elsewhere on this forum, there are instructions for overriding the time increments for "skip forward" & "skip backward" to 30/15 seconds, on your BlueCurve remote-control.
