@sergio105 -- if you have been watching that channel, your PVR is already recording it, so that the "rewind" and then "pause" or "fast-forward" buttons will work. So, just press the "record" button, to save what you have seen, and what you will see (even if you then change channels).

Note that the PVRs have multiple tuners. So, if you are watching a channel, and then flip to another channel, and then flip back, then the "rewind" button will work on the first channel.  For example, tune to Jimmy Fallon, flip to Jimmy Kimmel, watch his monologue, flip back to Jimmy Fallon, "rewind", and watch his monologue.

If you have not been watching that channel, consider using "Shaw On Demand" on the next day, to see if you can find the recorded program.

Or, if you tune-in to an in-progress show, click to "view all times" for the show, e.g., find a repeat the next day, and schedule your PVR to record the repeat.

But that is not what is desired.  What so many of us want is to be able to flip back and forth among two channels so that we can essentially watch two good programs at the same time while scrolling through all commercials.  Basically controlling time on one channel while watching the other.  This was simple with Gateway and I don't understand how the Shaw (or whomever) analysts and programmers missed this simple and incredibly desireable feature.  Perhaps there is some money in it for Shaw the channel provider to prevent us from easily skipping the commercials?

@joe3006 -- on your BlueCurve remote, just click "record" on one channel, switch to the other channel, and again click "record".

After you have done this, you can flip between the two channels, and "rewind/fast-forrward" on either recording.

At the end of each recording, click to delete the recording.

Note that the Shaw On Demand recording eliminates all the commercials.  Instead, for each "break", you see a "promo" (if you are watching the recording of one CTV show, you get a promo for some other CTV show).
