Time shift channels come and go

We don’t subscribe to time shift but at random times the major network stations from the US are available. Then, at other times I get the message that I need to subscribe. These are 141, 142, 143 and 144. Also, I added them to favourites and can’t remove those channels from favourites now  It doesn’t matter whether they are available or not at the time they are always in the favourites list  I can move other channels to and from the favourites list

Hi @sharonanne ,  ssshh!  Now they will hear and turn it off.   Yes I have been getting the same thing, the channels become available on Friday mornings and are removed wee hours of Monday mornings, this has been happening for quite awhile now.  I've never mentioned it on here in fear that the glitch will get fixed.  The only way to remove those channels from your favourites list is thru the tv app and then it should disappear in a little while on your tv box.  This is the only method I have been able to find, by searching Rogers and Comcast Xfinity forums, it is a known issue that everyone is complaining about and this seems to be the only workaround, if it does not work for you then don't have a solution for you.  Hope it works.

@sharonanne , just thought of 1 more thing if you still can't remove those channels from favourites.  The next time you come across those channels on, immediately remove them from your favourites list, since the remove button will now appear when you have access to a channel.  If it comes on again starting Friday then that's your chance to remove them from your list.

@g-idk  I believe Rogers (east) has a free preview of time shift channels for weekends only, I wonder if it is some how infecting the Rogers/Shaw customers. Nothing about it on our preview page (or maybe it hasn’t been updated).

Tried removing from favourites when the channel was live but no luck. I ended up calling and they turned time shift on long enough for me to remove them. We haven’t noticed the weekend timing but I’ll see if it happens this weekend. I don’t think there’s anything on the weekend that we want to watch, much less time shift.

Ok glad to hear you got it resolved.  More than likely now they will fix the issue and we probably won't get the those free channels,  I agree not much extra too watch on them but hey free is free.  I'll check on Friday.

I would be completely amazed if they fixed it. They were way way more interested in my favourites list issue than with the fact that I can see those channels at times.

@sharonanne ,  lol.  Hey I'm just kidding around anyways.  Like you I don't really watch anything on time shift, I think I've only watched a couple of programs that were on at a different time, if they go no biggie.  Have a great evening.

While "time-shift" is in "free preview", can you use Shaw On Demand to view previously-broadcast shows that were originally on those time-shift channels?
