BostonBob's original question still has not been answered. To repeat: "Any word on when ( or if ) Vancouver will get some of these new HD channels ????"
To remind, some small communities are getting almost all SD channels converted to HD, over the summer/fall. You can see the channels & conversion dates here: https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-19077.
What about the rest of Shawland?
Hi everyone,
We appreciate the enthusiasm! As with all major changes and upgrades, we post the information here when it's communicated to us. At this point there is no word on whether or not we will be converting channels in other areas, but if we get any more information it will be posted here on Community. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the Service Updates page for your region - you can find that here: https://community.shaw.ca/community/service-updates
If you want to subscribe to email notifications for Service Updates and Alerts, you can do so using the steps on https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-14159

Hey Tamara - thanks for the response but all this conflicting information is getting quite confusing. A few weeks ago we were told that only BlueSky users would be getting a bunch of new HD channels but now we're told that anybody with a MPEG-4 cable box will be getting these channels.....but only in certain areas to start out with. Listen - I like being with SHAW as I get all 3 services and they are all great as far as performance goes but this BS with not adding/not adding new HD channels will be the reason I will probably leave at the end of my 2-year deal. The bottom line is that SHAW customers were strung along with all these promises about getting a bunch of new HD channels once the DNU upgrade was completed and then we ended up getting squat. I bet if you asked all the customers that have already left SHAW or are planning on doing so that the lack of new HD channels will be cited as the main reason.
Well said. It is the reason we will finally make the move to the competition, probably this summer unless things change fast. Not prepared to wait until who knows when for these upgrades despite paying sky-high monthly bills.

Quite some good change coming in Calgary for Bluesky. Hope to see it in Vancouver
