@BHK4 You can find the steps to programming your BlueCurve TV remote to control an audio device on this page, after clicking the Setup button at the top then expanding the 'Setup for Audio Device Control' section. Once you have the remote setup for your audio device, it should control that device for volume rather than your TV speakers, and the audio device would turn on/off when using the power button on the remote as well.
