Create a Shaw email address

If you're signed into the Shaw.ca website, you can create a Shaw email address in just nine easy steps.

  1. Visit https://my.shaw.ca
  2. Sign into My Shaw.
  3. Click My Services and select Internet from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to Email accounts and click Create Email.
  5. Enter your first name and last name.
  6. Enter a username (eg. username@shaw.ca)
  7. Enter a password.
  8. Click Create.

If the username you chose is available, and your password meets the requirements, you should see a confirmation that your new email address has been created.

Set up email on devices and in mail apps

No matter which device or email app you're using, the steps to setting up a Shaw email address so you can send and receive mail will be similar.

  1. Open the device or app settings and find mail settings.
  2. Choose to add an email account.
  3. Enter the email address, password, and server settings for your Shaw email account.

Email address: Your Shaw email address

What is Shaw email?

IMAP is a protocol that leaves your emails on the server, allowing you to read and manage emails using multiple computers, devices, and email apps. IMAP is recommended for use with your Shaw email addresses. 

What is the largest email message that I can send/receive?

The maximum email size sent or received, attachments included, is 20MB. The maximum file size for an individual attachment, in Webmail, is 5MB.

What is the size of my Shaw email mailbox?

The maximum mailbox size for Shaw email is 1GB.
