Mine were locked too. Apparently they are working on a MyShaw notification to inform users this has occurred. IDK why mine were locked in the first place.
I have also had this trouble with an my email account. wont let me sign in and comes up with this message.
Hey Johns0n,
This can also occur if you are still using an older password that no longer fits the security criteria. What you will need to do is contact our technical support and they can unlock the email account for you, then you can update the password through My Shaw following the steps located here https://bit.ly/3helCIf
If you do not "trust" hyperlinks through BIT.LY (or BITLY.COM), access:
https://support.shaw.ca/t5/internet-articles/how-to-change-your-shaw-email-password/ta-p/6430
which is a Shaw web-site.
yes too often must be time to switch to telus
@Lucylmiller -- must be time to switch to telus
Have you signed a Two-Year Value Plan with Shaw? If so, cancelling will trigger a $20/month fee for each of your remaining months.
Last year, I was offered $200 in "Telus credit", to offset that fee, if I switched to a three-year contract with Telus.
Remember that some of your online accounts (bank, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, NetFlix) may be configured to send E-mail to your Shaw E-mail ID, if you click "forgot password". If you do switch to Telus, remember to update your "recovery E-mail" ID on each of those systems.
Also, read the "fine-print" from Telus, if they offer "promotional" rates for 6 months or 1 year, and much-higher monthly charges, later, for the remaining months in your Telus contract.
Caveat emptor!
@Hu2 -- Have a new IPad and have not been able to access my email all week
What configuration settings are you using?
What error-messages are you getting?
If you try to logon to http://WebMail.Shaw.ca
is your E-mail ID & password accepted?
new password doesn't help. unless it needs to be what? a hundred random characters? they don't tell you.
