Our Shaw internet setup is as follow. Black cable from outside comes into the home, plugs into a white cable in the basement, white cable goes upstairs to living room and connects to Arris modem/router unit.
I want to have ethernet in the basement and have a switch for that purpose. Do I just connect a long ethernet cable to the Arris 2.5Gb port in the living room, push the cable downstairs somehow through the wall socket hole and connect it to the switch?
