Blink Module not connecting

My Ignite Internet 500 WiFi Gateway has not allowed my Blink module (security Camera system) to log on to the 2.4 channel for months. It appears to be a common problem. See the Rogers forum (https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Internet/Blink-Sync-Module-2-not-connecting/td-p/522377) and Amazon forum (https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D56Q0000D9UfleSQC/blink-mini-camera-wont-connect-to-24ghz-on...)

I've tried everything - resets, new batteries, YouTube videos - the wifi just won't accept the password. I assume I'll either need to change from Shaw/Rogers or buy a different camera system. Can anyone recommend a camera system that works with Shaw?

@DCSR1 I have both versions of Blink modules connected to my Ignite modem (band steering turned on) and they work fine. Possibly a faulty module?

He makes a few suggestions, including replacing the Blink's battery.

I have a "multimeter" that can show the battery's Voltage (should be 1.5) and its Amperage (it should be above 4 amperes).  Some new batteries show up to 6 Amperes, while "near-dead" batteries only show about 1 Ampere. Avoid "carbon-zinc" batteries, and use "lithium" batteries. Some rechargeable batteries only reach 1.2 Volts.

I’m a new Haw/ Rogers customer….my blink sync module worked fine on my previous Telus home wifi network….but since moving and switching to Shaw Ignite, I can’t get my sync module to connect to the network. I’ve turned off band steering and renamed the 2.4 ghz  network. Module fails to connect with an incorrect password…..which is entered correctly. I’ve reset the module, ensured my mobile device can connect to the network….and still the module won’t connect. Does anyone have an answer to fix this??

My Blink system was working fine on the Shaw Router until I upgraded to the new router recently. I suspect the block on Blink is an attempt to force Shaw and Rogers users away from home security alternatives and into the Shaw and Rogers Ingnite HomeConnect solution. It is blatant and egregious anticompetitive behaviour and needs to be reporting to the Competition Bureau of Canada through their complaint from below.

Hey "Grand Master",

I have a Shaw Router, not a Rogers. I have still reported it to the competition bureau as Shaw is not providing any meaningful support in this regard and I am out about $600.

@Outdoorsytom  Shaw no longer exists as a company, you now have a Rogers modem. What is the model number of your modem?

Yes, tried that. Tried running only 2.4gHz and it still refuses to accept password. Many, many people seem to have this exact problem and my impression is that most people had their Blink cameras working before the Shaw Rogers merger. I’m not a conspiracy theorist - I think it is more likely a software bug.
I once found a list (can’t remember if it was on Rogers or Shaw) of trusted devices and suppliers). Has anyone else seen such a thing? I remember noting that Blink was not on it.
