Downloads blocked by Shaw - McAfee

Hello 

Laptop with up to date Win 10 and up to date Shaw McAfee will not allow zip or pdf downloads, Showing "failed - virus scan failed".

Any ideas?

I would

1. download the latest version of McAfee (assuming that you can "save" this download for later),
2. uninstall McAfee,
3. restart Windows,
4. if necessary: download the latest version,
5. reinstall McAfee.

Does this happen when you use a particular browser or does it happen with all browsers?

Happens with Edge and Chrome.

I Googled that error and there was a link to a Microsoft page that mentioned their attachment service.

@VaughanTaylor -- are you downloading onto a computer that you own/manage, or are you using a computer at your employer's business?  The business may be adding security to their network, by filtering all attempts to download such "possibly malicious software" onto their corporate computers.

Got an example of a desired download on a web-site that is being blocked?
