I'm trying to help an old couple who uses Shaw Webmail, who are confused. I, personally, use Gmail, so I'm not familiar.
When I look at the inbox, under From, I notice that there are two names shown e.g. MADISON James. If I hover over the Madison, I can see the correct email address for that party. When I hover over the James, I can see the correct email address for that party.
Is this the standard format for a message involving more than one party?? I've never seen this before, but like I said I use Gmail.
Also there's a dialog box that constantly pops up asking if you want to change your notifications (yes/no). They always say No, but I'd like to understand what they are doing to initiate that dialog box so I can teach them and lessen their stress.
Thanks for any help a kind soul can offer....
@lywillows - Is this the standard format for a message involving more than one party?
When there is more than one recipient of the E-mail, every recipient shows-up in the "To:" field -- not the "From:" field?
Click on the "Actions" pull-down, and click "Show Original". Now, what do you see in the "From:" line and in the "To:" line?
Do you have more than one "MADISON" and/or more than one "JAMES" in your "Contacts" ?
There is no 'To' field showing. When I click on original, I get something that resembles this: (incomplete)

You were on the correct track.
Further down, there should be something like:
Subject: Re: COVID-19
To: me .... <....@....>
References: ....
A different E-mail to me was sent with the "blind-CC" option -- there really was no "To:" line!
