The Shaw Rogers HomeConnect app is showing a number of my devices as being off-line even though they are actually online.
This is just recently happened.
I have rebooted the XB7 and my iPhone and restarted the HomeConnect app.
Is anyone else noticing this same issue?
This makes it more challenging to do troubleshooting when I’m having network issues on some devices and they show as off-line.
All of these devices are online
@tc10 -- for "security" reasons, some of your Apple devices send a randomly-different MAC-address each time the device connects to your home WiFi. So, you may see one device showing as "expired" (last connected a while ago) and also as "current" (recently connected).
Within Apple "Settings", you can disable this "randomness", but sending the same MAC-address at multiple locations (A&W, Timhortons, Starbucks, ShawOpen, etc.) may allow your device to be "tracked".
Thanks for reply,
I just double checked. the Mac addresses are the same.
And the devices do not show up under any other name in the connected devices
as you can see many of the devices Nest & Wyze (fixed locati9ns in home) as well as Apple show as recently connected ... they actually are connected with the mac address shown but homeconnect shows them as disconnected.
i guess it is what it is.
@tc10 -- your screen-shot shows 2 entries of "Apple iPad Pro 12.9".
Do you have 2 of them? Do they show the same MAC-address? Are they both currently connected?
