Why are these gateways so noisy
constant hum - it actually gives me migraines

New Bluecurve modem humming noise and very short range distance
Really? That's the solution?
I just upgraded to Bluecurve which turns out is a noisy modem, so much so that I get headache's from it. My only solution however is to "upgrade" some more.
Right, pay more and more and more...to have something that works and doesn't give you a headache - great solution.
@bananapants -- welcome to this peer-to-peer discussion forum.
There have been many posts about the noise from the BlueCurve XB6, with the only bypass being the XB7 (or switching to Telus).
This forum is not a path to Shaw Support. Contact them ( www.shaw.ca/chat or 1-888-472-2222 ) to make a request for the XB7, to see if Shaw will accommodate your issue.
Try getting a replacement, my XB6 is dead quiet, so maybe you got a dud.
You shouldn't have to pay more for something that gives you a quieter modem, try to force them to give you their xb 7 without you upgrading their over priced internet prices, telus have a great deal rn
I don't know...I've been combing through a lot of reviews and it's all complaints that theirs are noisy...even people who went for replacements and found the new one to also be noisy. I'm not confident a replacement would make a difference...but I will call them tomorrow.
@rstra -- my XB6 is dead quiet
Maybe, the fan inside your XB6 is dead? Does it make any noise at all? Do you feel any air-flow at its exhaust port?
