Since the Nov 26 extended outage at Shaw my email is a mess. Login is slow. Receipt of email is slow. Deleted items are suddenly reappearing. My user-generated folders are slow or not syncing at all. Most recently got an HTTP Error 502 related to inability to connect to the ZCS upstream server. Calls to Shaw indicate they are aware of the problem with no indication of an ETR. I've been at Shaw internet customer for as long as Shaw has been around. This is SO frustrating.
@mfmcpherson -- physically, where is your computer? It might be a network problem in your village/town/city?
If you are using a VPN-server, disable it, to see if connecting through the VPN-server is the issue.
For me, Shaw's servers (My Shaw Portal, WebMail, IMAP access via Microsoft Outlook) are working fine.
Have you powered-off/powered-on the Shaw cable-modem, and done the same for any third-party router that you may be using, and done the same with your computer(s)?
Also, some actual output, e.g., "tracert www.ucalgary.ca" would be helpful to show where any "latency" may be.
Same for me - having the same issues. I spoke to Shaw a few days ago and they said "There is a National Issue with emails right now. INC1601446. Zimbra mail store service is intermittently degraded and many customers IMAP/ActiveSync has been disabled due to their automatic syncing spamming the server with request from multiple devices. Technicians are restoring syncing as quickly as possible." I have no idea what half of that means but bottom line is they are trying to fix it. Mind you it's been an issue now for a week. Maybe follow up with them. You can copy and paste the above in the chat to them and see what they say?
I got the same info. Here is the summary of my call:

Thanks, but Shaw has a known issue on their end affecting 50% of their users (per Shaw tech support). Looks like I'll just have to wait it out. Ten days and counting
Just thought everyone should know in case you don't know.
Finally got to another supervisor, this Sunday morning, who wasn't blaming users or Microsoft for the recent email problems. She admitted not being heavy technical but knew enough to say the problem had been officially designated fixed Thursday last week and it was a CONFIGURATION issue. Like that never happens (tongue in cheek).
We decided that the next time someone makes a config change and it fails like this one then they can't leave the computer room until its fixed. You can only leave for a bio break, no going home, nothing. You stay !!!! Also, you only get diet coke and cold pizza with bad toppings until you correct your mess.
Merry Christmas to all.
