@MontyP -- inside your residence, are you using WiFi to connect from your device to your Shaw cable-modem?
From the cable-modem to Shaw's network, the connection uses coaxial-cable, not WiFi.
So, if you lose your WiFi connection, it could be between your device and the cable-modem, or it could be from the cable-modem, out of your residence, to the nearest telephone-pole.
Can you experiment by connecting an Ethernet cable from your computer to your cable-modem, to see if bypassing your WiFi network eliminates the outages?
