live in northern Ont. xb6 upgrade to xb7 2 days ago, never a problem with internet till now, new xb7 drops constantly
has to be the xb modem, everything is the same except modem, nice upgrade!!!
@Soumilinon -- has to be the XB7 modem
It could be a "signal strength" issue -- where the XB6 was more tolerant of such an issue than the XB7.
Contact Shaw, and get the Agent to remotely logon to your XB7, to view the "signal strength" reaching it.
Poor signal strength can be remediated:
Probably not the XB7 at all.
Exact same problem, northern Ont. Xb6 was never an issue, xb7, right out of the box, nothing but trouble. Now I'm nervous to even get updates for PC because internet might disconnect in the process of updating!!!
Same it's getting really irritating

As previously stated in this thread, contact them, and get an Agent to remotely logon to the cable-modem, for they to view the "signal-strength" reaching the cable-modem. Poor signal strength will cause issues.
OMG my internet connection is awful. It has been bad for weeks and months. Today I chatted with a specialist and he tried to convince me the technicians were working in the area. That is a lie as my App said there are no outages!! It was suggest that I need a new router but I can’t have it until the work in the area is done. That does not explain my outages of 20 mins to hours without connection.
An acquaintance of mine is getting a month free due to all the problems. That is what we should do, demand cash for no internet.
We also had this recently. Did all the troubleshooting and nothing fixed. Finally reached out and They remoted in and said the modem was overheating. It started off as little disconnects and then disconnection completely things we streamed. Sent a new one 1 month ago and much better and speed seems better. I feel like this was happening for years. Kids are much happier.
