Internet upload very impacted, not getting speeds we pay for.

Hi,

I am paying for 1 gb down 100 up.  The upload is very poor, and even on speedtest.net its going 1/3rd of what it should go.  Even slower on other websites.

The upload is spiking downward to 49 Kbps.  The reason I'm posting here, is because the residence has been checked in the past many times, and any problem at this location has been the result of a problem within the node.  When you graph the upload data, it shows major noise in the upload.

Is there any way we can have a shaw plant specialist look into this?  I strongly believe sending someone out to the residence will be a waste of resources.  I am sure a plant specialist would see this immediately, thanks!

Please help!

Hi, @vguy85 , It's not very likely that you will get a response from a Shaw Support agent on here, these forums are not closely monitored.  This is actually just a peer to peer discussion forum.  I would suggest you copy and paste your above post and send it to Shaw via the My Voice link under the contact us section as one alternative, otherwise you're just going to have to contact Shaw Support directly thru phone/chat/social media messengers.  Wish I could help more, maybe someone on here can help you.

@vguy85 -- when you are conversing with a Shaw Agent, ask them to remotely logon to your cable-modem, and view its internal statistics, including "signal-strength". Anything "out-of-spec" affects your Internet connection. The Agent may choose to book a site-visit from a Shaw technician, to check the coaxial-cable between the Shaw "demarcation box" on your home and the nearest telephone-pole.

Shaw Plant?  I don't think that Shaw has a certified Bonsai Artist on staff.  🙂
