However, I doubt that any Shaw employee who wishes to stay employed will release any "company confidential" information.

Yesterday, I asked a Shaw support representative this same question and they said the XB7 modem should be available to Shaw customers outside of Calgary by next month.

I asked a Shaw support representative today and he told me the modem is available in my area (Coquitlam, BC) but it is only with the new Fibre+ Gig 1.5 plan.

Hi:  I also spoke to a Shaw rep yesterday, and can confirm that in Vancouver the XB7 is only available to Fibre+ 1.5 GB customers.

I upgraded to fibre+ 1.5 gig on Thursday (I’m in Mission BC) and had my shiny new modem on my porch Friday afternoon.  With the promo pricing they’re currently offering my price only went up $14 from what I was paying on fibre+ gig.  I might also return the pod because the new modem seems to be managing all the traffic nicely throughout the house, meaning my net increase would be four bucks.  Sweet deal.  😃
