My Internet shut off in Sylvan Lake at approx. 8:15 this morning

@jdlions_1 -- As I write, 8:15 was 55 minutes ago.  Since you were able to post 53 minutes ago, did your Internet access return after 2 minute outage? Did all the electrical devices in your home lose power? Did the Shaw network infrastructure in your town lose power? Can you blame BC Hydro for doing something with the power to all/part of Sylvan Lake? Was there an automobile crash that knocked down one of BC Hydro's poles, cutting power in your neighbourhood? Was there a "brown-out" as too many active air conditioners caused an overload on a BC Hydro circuit?

Did Shaw "push" a software update to your cable-modem, forcing it to restart, and thus not be working while it restarted?

So, it could be a problem with the fiber-optic cable between Sylvan Lake and Red Deer.

It could be a problem with the fiber-optic cable between Red Deer and either Calgary or Edmonton.

It could be a problem with all the customers wired to the Shaw/Rogers centre in Red Deer.

It could be a problem with all the customers wired to the Shaw/Rogers centre in Sylvan Lake.

It could be a problem with all the customers wired to the Shaw/Rogers network in your neighbourhood.

It could be a problem with all the customers wired to the Shaw/Rogers network on your street.

It could be a problem with the coaxial-cable from your home to the nearest telephone-pole.

It could be a problem with the cable-splitter inside the "Demarcation Box" attached to an outside wall of your residence.

It could be a problem with the coaxial-cables inside your walls.

Does your Ethernet-connected computer have a working Internet connection?

Do your WiFi-connected devices/computer have a working Internet connection?

Do you have a "popped" circuit-breaker in your breaker panel? Can you reset it?

Does it help to connect your cable-modem to a different circuit within your residence?

If you take your WiFi-using device to any "ShawOpen" free WiFi hot-spot in your town, does it connect?

Have you checked this "Outages" page for your area:

Any applicable notices?

Have you powered-off/powered-on the cable-modem, and your computer/devices, to reset them?

Is it just your WiFi-using devices? If you have an Ethernet cable between your computer and the cable-modem, do you still have Internet access?  

Maybe, power-off/power-on the cable-modem, since it should be supplying WiFi to your wireless devices.
