as of last night firmware update Dec. 9 / 2024 port forwarding with the app no longer works.
Contacted Rogers and Rogers support, neither of which could help as they were not trained on port forwarding.
I did all the normal troubleshooting things, unplugged router, reset router, unplugged PC, reset PC, port forwarded on the PC firewall, port forwarded on the Rogers Xfinity app, went as far as factory resetting the router and still can't get port forward to work on the app. If I hot spot with my phone port forward works but not through the router. At this point I'm at a loss, I have tried everything and the answer I got from Tech support was to get a pc tech or internet tech in to fix my issue even though everything worked perfectly fine last night until the firmware update.
I did yes, missed that in my previous post, I have went through this entire thread as well as Reddit for the XB8 modem, everything worked without issue previously until this firmware update, I tried contacting support again and was told it's not their problem and to contact a networking specialist.
