Hello,
After switching out my router for it not working, I am only receiving 100 Mbps of download of the 300 I am paying for. I used to get higher speeds but now its down to that even though the 5G Ethernet is actually faster.
Info: (Ask if more needed)
Router: Hitron CGNM-2250
Cable: CAT.5e
Network Card: Killer E2200 (1.0 Gbps max)
CPU (If applicable.): I7-6800K
Speed tests cap out around 130 Mbps on Ethernet, this was tested with NO other devices connected.
I look forward to help from anyone with ideas,
Thanks!
I had exactly the same issue, my Ethernet was maxing out at 100mbps on all gigabit ethernet ports via cat .6 cable, whereas my WiFi was close to 200mbps. Here's what I did to fix it:
1. Chat with shaw support bot and mention internet slow speed on all wired devices. Not sure if this is strictly necessary, but maybe it does something automated to my account in the background to reset something?
2. Follow the bot prompts to reset the router (unplug and plug back in and perform a speed test)
3. My internet stopped working completely after the reset (I was getting a 'DNS probe finished error'), so I then followed these steps in windows cmd prompt:
3a) ipconfig /release
3b) ipconfig /all
3c) ipconfig /flushdns
3d) ipconfig /renew
Et voila! I hope it helps you.

Is it possible that the Ethernet adapter inside your computer is just 10/100 speed, not 10/100/1000 "Gigabit-capable" ? Or, that you have configured it to "lock" it to 100 Mbps?
No, neither of those things. My solution would not have worked if that was the case. I don't have the issue anymore, my post just explains how I solved it.
